Weekly Reflection- Week 1 (March 6,7)
It was a new experience with a lot of kids in the same playground. It looks a busy place with more than 50 kids and mostly outdoor play.
What is Risky play? Whole yard seems to full with risky play. Am I comfortable with all those risky stuffs? The play we feel risky, does children also feel the same?
Does it makes you feel uncomfortable when you see a kids having a risky play?
What it looks like to explore outdoor with children? This is a question I got to see on all the walls. It kinda makes me think a bit, what really it looks like?
I had one question for a long time, ” How much is really overstepping/over involving during play time with children,?
WEEK-2 (March 13,14)
Making connection is one of the thing in this very second week. Making connection with children, making connections with mentor teacher and other staff members is the main focus of the week. Children are getting along me, some of them are learning to say my name. More of the children from other section are coming to me and talking to me.
During play time, I was really confused whom to supervise just kids from my class or all the other children. I also asked my mentor and she suggested me to observe all the children un till you fully know our children, that will help me learn about children’s behavior. This week I tried to observe how to cope with children’s little fights or sadness along with supervising children during their play as well. Also learning and getting into the daily chores from learning how to sanitize dishes to cleaning and washing the floor.
